How to Become a Christian
God's Plan of Salvation
ALL HAVE SINNED AND GONE ASTRAY
Romans 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
SINS PENALTY IS DEATH
Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin [is] death; but the gift of God [is] eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
GOD PAID THE PENALTY FOR YOU
Romans 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
YOU MUST RECEIVE HIM
John 1:12 But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, [even] to them that believe on his name: {power: or, the right, or, privilege}
SALVATION IS NOT EARNED, BUT IS A FREE GIFT
Ephesians 2:8-9 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: [it is] the gift of God:
9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
YOU CAN HAVE ASSURANCE OF SALVATION
John 5:24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.
What do I have to do to be saved?
Admit that you are a sinner.
Turn from sin (repent).
Believe that Jesus Christ died for you, was buried, rose from the dead and ascended into heaven.
Say the following prayer inviting Jesus into your life to become your personal savior.
Just say this prayer with all your heart and you will become a Christian, be saved and have eternal life.
Heavenly Father, I admit that I am a sinner. I believe that Jesus Christ shed his precious blood and died for my sin on the cross, and rose again on the third day. I believe in the Gospel. I accept Jesus Christ as my personal savior and ask him to come into my heart as my personal savior. I pray in Jesus' name, Amen.
God Bless You!
If you said this prayer and really meant it, the Tecumseh Free Will Baptist Church congregation would like to be the first to welcome you to the family of God. Go tell someone about our Lord, Jesus Christ, and how you now have eternal life. Today is your day of salvation. Always remember it and be proud to be a Christian.
I'm a Christian! Now what must I do?
Read your Bible every day to get to know Jesus Christ better.
Be baptized, worship and serve Christ in a church where Christ is preached and the Bible is the final authority.
Tell others about Jesus Christ.
Talk to God in prayer every day.
